Religion & Spirituality part II

hii friends in my last i told you about religion and spirituality of mandawa featuring marwadi samaaj lets know something about the rajputs living there :D
Indian history is replete with instances of bravery and sacrifice. A large share of these braveries is attributed to the Rajput clan, who greatly valued their military virtues and honor. The literal meaning of Rajput is ‘son of a king,’ indicative of their warrior lineage.During the 7th and 8th century emerged a new clan of people who came to be known as Rajputs. They basically belonged to the warrior class of people and were located in Rajasthan and some central parts of India. There were bodyguards and watchmen who were very loyal to their masters.Rajputs were known for their loyalty and trustworthy nature

Rajput (Hindiराजपूत) is a member of one of the major groups of the Hindu Kshatriya varna (social order) in the Indian subcontinent, particularly North India. They enjoy a reputation as soldiers; many of them serve in the Indian Armed Forces. During the British Raj, the Government accepted them and recruited many (primarily non-aristocratic) Rajputs into their armies. Current-day Rajasthan is home to most of the Rajputs, although demographically the Rajput population and the former Rajput states are found spread through much the subcontinent, particularly in North India and central India. Populations are found in Himachal PradeshJammuPunjabUttaranchalMadhya PradeshBiharGujaratMaharashtra and Uttar Pradesh
There is no mention of the term rajput in the historical record as pertaining to a social group prior to the 6th centuryAD.Rajputs rose to prominance during the 6th and 12th centuries and untill the 20th century rajputs ruled in the "overwhelming majority" of the princely states of Rajasthan and Saurashtra, where the largest number of princely states were found. They are divided into three major lineages. The four Agnivanshi clans, namely the Pratiharas(Pariharas), Solankis (Chaulukyas), Paramaras (Parmars) and Chauhans (Chahamanas), rose to prominence first. The Rajputs were skillful warriors and followed a strict code of conduct when it came to waging a battle and driving away an enemy. There are many tales and folklores about the bravery of the Rajputs. The Rajputs were God fearing people and were devoted to Vishnu, Rama and Sun God. With time the power of the Rajputs began to decline mainly due to the fact that they were unable to move with time. The Mughals invaded and captured huge parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
